Heart in Hands is a private home-based Registered Massage Therapy clinic in South Surrey BC. The clinic opened in 2014 and was created around a simple idea: Healthcare can be both professional and deeply personal. We maintain a quiet treatment environment where there is time to listen, assess and work without feeling rushed.

What to Expect at your first appointment

Your first appointment begins with a conversation. We'll review your health history, discuss what brought you in and talk about what you would like to accomplish through treatment. With your verbal consent, I may perform a visual assessment and standing palpation to better understand the areas that need further investigation. We'll then discuss an appropriate treatment plan and review treatment consent before beginning. You remain in control of your treatment throughout the entire appointment. 

Your comfort matters

You are welcome to communicate with me throughout your treatment. ​There is no "right" way to receive massage therapy. Please tell me if you would like:
  • More or less pressure
  • A different position
  • More support from pillows
  • Less conversation
  • More conversation
  • Different music
  • A pause or a break
  • A different technique 
  • To stop altogether

Quiet or conversational?

Either is completely fine. Some people love to chat during their treatment. Others find that quiet helps them relax and allows them to focus on their body. If you prefer a quiet environment, simply let me know. In fact, I often find that less conversation allows me to tune in more closely into subtle changes in the tissues I'm working with.

Clothing and draping

You can wear whatever makes you comfortable. If you are concerned about massage oil or lotion getting onto your clothing, please let me know. I can remove oils from your skin before you get dressed. You will always be appropriately draped, and I will leave the room while you undress and redress.

Consent is ongoing

Consent isn't something that happens only once at the beginning of the appointment. Every part of your treatment should feel consensual. If something doesn't feel comfortable - no matter how small - you can tell me at any point. You never need to justify asking for a change. 

Parking and Access

Parking is available on the South side of the street. There are 4 concrete steps with a railing leading to the front door. If you have accessibility concerns or are unsure whether the clinic will work for your needs, please contact me before booking so we can discuss your options. 

A note about Huxley

We have a very gentle Hypoallergenic Australian Labradoodle named Huxley. He is part of the home environment but does not need to be part of your treatment experience. If you are nervous around dogs, uncomfortable with animals or simply don't want him nearby, just let me know and I will make sure he stays away from you.

Thursday     9am - 2:15pm
Friday           9am - 2:15pm

With occasional time slots open outside of these hours depending on childcare availability. 
Cancellation Policy:
If you need to cancel your appointment please give your therapist 24 hours notice. A self cancelling link can be found within your confirmation or reminder email
