Patient Arrival Protocol
- Patient will arrive to an open gate.
- Patient will knock on the door no earlier than 5 minutes to the treatment time.
- Therapist will be donned with freshly sanitized lab coat, hair covering, medical face mask, black leggings & closed toed shoes
- Therapist will greet patient and immediately ask if they have either brought a mask or need one.
- Therapist will then take Patients temperature with a contactless forehead thermometer. As well as produce an iPad so that the patient may fill out the second prescreening document & waiver of liability form.
- If the Patient consents, and passes the prescreening, then the Patient will sanitize hands with either soap and water or the hand sanitizer provided in the entrance. Followed by a thorough drying before touching anything else.
- It is preferred that the patient stays within the centre of the hallways as to avoid contact with the walls.
- Once entered into the treatment room, the patient may either stand by, or sit on the chair provided.
- The patient may keep their personal items on their chair, or on the plastic mat provided.
- Communication will occur about what the Patient has decided to seek Massage Therapy for. The therapist will maintain distance at the opposite end of the room.
- Therapist will leave the room to wash hands again, sanitize iPad, chart Patients subjective history and give time for the Patient to undress.
Treatment Protocol
- Upon re-entry to the room to begin the treatment, the therapist will ask if the patient is comfortable, and wants a blanket, or heating pad.
- Patient has the option at any time to ask questions.
- Therapist will donn a plastic full face splash shield for any and all supine treatment (face up)
- Patient may ask at any time that the therapist don any further PPE that is available. Including gloves, half mask respirator or different eye wear.
- Patient may ask at any time to use for themselves - a pair of sanitized safety glasses.
- Patient has the option to wear a mask while prone, and / or have a pillowcase put under the face cradle.
- If either the patient or the therapist sneezes or coughs, the therapist will increase the power supply to both air purifier and air filter. Leave the room for 2 minutes while the air has been cleaned, then reenter the room to continue treatment.
After Treatment Protocol
- Therapist immediately washes all surfaces of hands and arms that were used to contact patient and begins charting the treatment on the clinic iPad.
- Patient may advise therapist that they are ready to come out so that the therapist may open the door for them . OR the patient may choose to use a tissue provided to self open the door.
- Payment will be taken or discussed.
- Receipt will be emailed upon payment.
- Patient will sanitize hands before leaving.
- Therapist will open front door if the situation allows for social distancing to take place. Otherwise the patient will be allowed to open door with provided cloth to door handle.
Cleaning Protocol
There will be a HEPA UV disinfecting air filter, and an air purifier running throughout the duration of the work day. The window opened between appointments.

That means after a massage, before touching a patient, after you cough, sneeze, or touch your face, after using chemicals, after donning and doffing PPE, and after touching any other items and surfaces within the potentially contaminated area within the clinic.
Once the patient has left, the sanitization of the clinical space begins. The therapist will:

That means after a massage, before touching a patient, after you cough, sneeze, or touch your face, after using chemicals, after donning and doffing PPE, and after touching any other items and surfaces within the potentially contaminated area within the clinic.
Once the patient has left, the sanitization of the clinical space begins. The therapist will:
- Donn cleaning gloves
- Put all items to be laundered into the sealed laundry bin
- Soak all contaminated surfaces with Spray 9 for 30 seconds to be wiped down with a single use hand cloth. OR sprayed with diluted bleach to be left on for 10 minutes and/or left to dry.
- Doff cleaning gloves
- If another patient is set to arrive, the therapist will then Donn new lab coat, hair covering & mask and restock the treatment room with linens.
Cleaning Agents:
- Spray 9 - EPA # 6659-3. Active ingredient - Quaternary Ammonium. Contact time: 30sec.
- Parallel 49 Hand Sanitizer
- Salt Spring Soapworks
- Tide or Gain Laundry Detergent
Treatment Room
All one time use items are either thrown into the garbage or returned to the sealed laundry bin to be sanitized at the end of the work day.

- Floor, walls, lights switches, thermostat dial, closet handles, door, closet doors, windowsill, baseboard heater, baseboard moldings, shelves.
To be cleaned with Spray 9:
- Toilet, full sink, faucet & counter, mirror, soap dispenser.
- Walls, door handle, baseboard moldings, baseboard heater, door, garbage can.
To be cleaned with Bleach mixture:
- Door handles, light switches, Floor, walls, baseboard heater. baseboard mouldings.
- Hands, iPad.
